Overview

Overview

Sustainability can be integrated into student learning across a range of curriculum areas.  A number of subjects have specific student outcome statements that relate to environment and sustainability.  These outcomes are described in NSW Board of Studies documents.

Teachers refer to these documents for their programs. Use the above website to search your Stage level, Key Learning Area or course on their website for these statements.

Curriculum should be seen as the organiser of sustainability education.  Contextualising environmental learning using the school - it's grounds management and resource use, the local area and community, builds student knowledge and skills and develops strong positive environmental values.

Curriculum Links are included for many of the student investigations and activities. These documents are accessed by clicking on Curriculum Links in the 'Teachers Tips' section of each activity.
