Sustainable Schools NSW supports student learning through the achievement of the school community's sustainability objectives. The program aims to develop sustainability knowledge, skills, values and behaviours in students and the community.
By using the school and local environment as a learning context, a sense of place is developed, investigations are more authentic and students strengthen their connections. Curriculum planning is at the heart of the SEMP and supports teachers in developing effective and engaging learning programs.
Sustainable Schools NSW is supported by state and national environmental education policies and programs, as well as being supported at all levels of government through a range of programs.
