Schools located in metropolitan communities of NSW that have implemented outstanding environmental initiatives are invited to apply.
National Solar Schools Program
The Australian Government has recently announced the National Solar Schools Program will provide funding to schools to install a range of energy and water efficiency measures. It is recommended that schools develop energy and water action plans through the development of a School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP). The Department of Education and Training has further information for DET schools.

If you are from an organisation that works with schools and NOT in NSW, you can be involved by joining the Sustainable Schools Network.

The Sustainable Schools Network is made up of over 1000 schools in New South Wales and is still growing.

Professional learning workshops

Professional learning workshops are now being run throughout NSW. The workshops are approved by the NSW Institute of Teachers.

The workshops are by the Department of Environment and Climate Change and the Department of Water, Heritage and the Arts.
